I’m looking forward to a couple of events next week.
On Tuesday 15th October I’ll be making a presentation to the Ardnamurchan Winter Group: Forms of Narration – different ways to tell a tale. There will be props and fun activities.
On Thursday 17th October, 6pm, I’ll be at Waterstones Inverness for the Highlands launch of Sea Change. Barbara Henderson will be asking questions from the chair.
Hope to share some book love at both these events.
I was delighted to see Sea Change on display at the excellent independent Highland Bookshop in Fort William. Thanks for the recommendation, Sarah-Lou.
I had the most amazing time at the launch of Sea Change at Blackwell’s in Edinburgh last week. Tabatha Stirling with help from Lenny, the newest member of staff at Stirling Publishings, has turned my manuscript in to a fabulous book and made sensational cupcakes for the launch too.

There are lots of people I’d like to thank for making the evening so special:
Olga Wojtas asked a range of interesting and varied questions from the chair; music by the Vanden Family band provided an authentic ceilidh atmosphere; and the support from my family, friends and fellow writers in the audience was awesome. Thank you all.

Sea Change is now available from your usual bookseller.
With the publication of Sea Change getting ever closer, I’m enjoying getting promotional materials in place, including these fab looking cupcake toppers. Come along to the book launch on 3rd July at Blackwell’s, Edinburgh to see (and taste!) them. (On their cupcakes of course.)
And in case you are wondering what advance reviewers are saying about Sea Change, here is a selection of comments on the NetGalley site:
- It quivers with suspense…
- I loved the ending and that the author knew when to stop, leaving just enough mystery to keep the story and the characters in our minds.
- …the whole book crackles with energy. Loved it.
- …touches on some very sensitive issues and handles them really successfully too.
Pre-ordering for Sea Change will be available soon!
I’m delighted that Sea Change has been entered for the McIlvanney Debut Prize at Bloody Scotland this year.
Some amazing debut authors in the running, so fingers crossed!
Ahead of the launch of Sea Change in a few weeks time, I was interviewed by Laura at Stirling Publishing to share a little bit about the novel and some of my writing processes. Read all about it here. author interview
